AMH Participates in Port Klang Haulier Traffic Dispersal Task Force Meeting
The Association of Malaysian Hauliers (AMH) attended the inaugural meeting of the newly established Port Klang Haulier Traffic Dispersal Task Force, held this morning at the Lembaga Pelabuhan Klang (LPK) office. The meeting was chaired by Capt. Subra and convened under the directive of the YB Minister of Transport to address the persistent traffic congestion in Port Klang.
Key discussions and resolutions from the meeting included:
Agreement on the severity of the congestion and the need for collective action.
Proposed models to alleviate peak-period congestion, including trial runs for free storage incentives (+1/-1 day for selected clients).
AMH emphasized the importance of long-term solutions, including encouraging shippers and consignees to operate during off-peak hours.
Discussions on weight restrictions and the need for hauliers to upgrade axle weight ratings, with assurances from LPK regarding a phased approach to enforcement.
AMH remains steadfast in its commitment to advocating for fair and practical solutions that benefit all stakeholders within the logistics ecosystem. We look forward to the implementation of trial measures and continued collaboration with the task force to enhance the efficiency of Port Klang’s logistics operations.
