AMH Participates in Penang Port Commission Consultative Committee Meeting No. 1/2025

The Association of Malaysian Hauliers (AMH) participated in the Penang Port Commission Consultative Committee Meeting No. 1/2025, organised by Suruhanjaya Pelabuhan Pulau Pinang (SPPP) and held at the Millen Hotel, Penang. Chaired by YBhg. Dato’ Yeoh Soon Hin, Chairman of the Penang Port Commission (PPC), the meeting convened key industry stakeholders to deliberate on proposed revisions to port tariffs as well as strategic initiatives for the future development of Penang Port.

AMH welcomed the opportunity to contribute industry insights, particularly on the comprehensive review of Penang Port’s tariff structure, the potential impact of recent United States import tariff adjustments, and the forthcoming enforcement of the Combined Vehicle Weight (CVW) regulation, locally known as Berat Gabungan Kenderaan (BGK), effective 1 July 2025. During the discussions, AMH emphasised the importance of ensuring that any tariff adjustments are aligned with measurable service enhancements and reaffirmed its commitment to working collaboratively with stakeholders to support operational sustainability and Malaysia’s continued economic growth.
